The NSW government has recently revealed new plans to transform Rhodes into a high-rise region, adding over 4,000 apartments to the waterfront suburb to create a great new place to live, work and visit.
The new vision also includes exciting new public spaces, a site for a new primary school, improved access to Rhodes train station, an extension of existing cycleway and supporting mixed-use precincts with shops, restaurants and cafes.
Department of Planning executive director Malcolm McDonald said the revised plan takes advantage of Rhodes’ waterfront location, creating vibrant new mixed-use areas with the opportunity for people to live, work and enjoy great new public spaces right on the Parramatta River.
The Urban Developer believes that Billbergia’s development: Rhodes Central can be the highest in the new Rhodes neighbourhood under the new plan, catering to the future needs of NSW’s master plan.
The plan is currently on exhibition until 9 October 2020 for local feedback.
