The eagerly awaited redevelopment of Glenrose Shopping Centre in Belrose was officially opened on Friday.
The opening day complete with giveaways, promotions and even a couple of dinosaurs, attracted a large crowd from before 8am.
Anchored by a new Woolworths with in-store Bakery and fresh sushi bar, Phase 1 of the new centre also houses 29 specialised shops, services and restaurants. The mix of tenants includes a number of retailers returning to the site from the old centre, plus a range of new operators excited to be involved in the project.
The shopping centre is located opposite the Glen Street Theatre and library complex and the area acts as a busy social and community hub for the suburb. We have introduced a number of new cafes and restaurants, which will trade throughout the day, offering evening theatre goers an increased choice of food and drink before the show.
Adam Sheumack, Managing Director of retail services at Rook Partners said, “Our focus for this project was to create a comfortable, inner-city quality, dining environment that the local community will respond to. Months of planning went into the design development, with demand driven input coming from the Rook Partners team.”
Phase 2 is due to open early 2017 which will add a new Aldi, Mini Major, Gym and 6 shops to the centre.
