Despite the most challenging retail environment, 27 experienced and resilient retailers opened on Saturday at the new Rhodes Central development by Billbergia, joining Woolworths and McDonald’s.

The new retailers including Hey Meats, Yangga, Costi Seafoods, CoCo Tea, Snow Blossom, SushiDon Junction, Madam Pho, Biwon, Cho Express, Lab Bakery Cafe, Tasty Town Gelato, Top Impression Bakery, Malatang, BBQ Master, Two Peck, Leaf Cafe, Roll n Sushi, The Sugar Hill, Auvers Cafe and more, were well supported by the local residents despite offering only take away options in light of the current trading restrictions.

“We were genuinely delighted and impressed with the determination of these retailers to open in the current conditions. The Billbergia development and management teams have also persevered to open 47% of this shopping centre”, said Adam Sheumack from Rook Partners who have been involved with this development since 2018.

When fully opened, Rhodes Central will set a new standard for retail excellence in the area, with up to 60 specialty stores over three levels reflecting the neighbourhood’s cultural diversity.
