New South Wales has started easing out of lockdown slowly, more and more restrictions are continuing to relax — including, as just announced on 13 October, current caps on outdoor venues and events.
New South Wales Premier Gladys Berejiklian has announced the eased restrictions will start from Friday 16 October 2020. Under the new rules:
- Hospitality venues can allow one person for every two square metres for outdoor areas. This previously was one person per four square metres.
- Up to 500 people can attend outdoor seated music performances and rehearsals for venues complying with the four square metre rule. This previously was a total of 20 people.
“Cafes, restaurants, pubs and clubs can now open up to more people as we enter summer and this will help drive recovery and keep people in jobs,” NSW treasurer Dominic Perrottet said in a statement.
Rook Partners look forward to seeing customers return to the Sydney hospitality venues and our vibrant shopping centres. Covid-safe procedures will remain in place in our retail assets to ensure customers continue to feel safe.
