We’re excited to know Lachlan’s Line Pedestrian and Cycle Bridge shortlisted as a finalist for The Urban Developer’s ‘Excellence in Construction Innovation’ award this year! The bridge connects to our now opened Lachlan’s Square Village and we cannot wait for the final result later this year!
Arup Group and KI Studio have developed the concept design for the pedestrian and cycle bridge for LANDCOM that continues the green spine of Lachlan’s Line, from the contemporary Lachlan’s Square Village to the North Ryde train station.
The key inspiration for the bridge is to create an inspiring sculpture in the landscape that bridge users experience, whilst providing a unique landmark that cements the identity of the Lachlan’s Line precinct. The sinuous shape of the 178 metres long bridge creates an introverted experience for the users, as if walking ‘through’ a sculpture, making the journey to Lachlan’s Square Village more engaging and unique.
The Urban Developer Awards provide a platform for the industry to showcase to the broader community of the people, programs, places and projects that are positively shaping our cities and the results will be announced in December this year.
